Church Life : Glorifying Worship |
At KBC we want to be offering Glorifying Worship. We long to be a church where people are being transformed inwardly through their purposeful interaction with the grace of God and as a result are being increasingly conformed to Christ. We long to be a church that, recognising its complete dependence upon God, takes prayer seriously and makes it an integral part of every aspect of our life together. We long to be a church that recognises the value of different approaches and styles of worship services.
Spiritual formation:
We are seeking to encourage people to 'guard their hearts' through the development of daily spiritual practices. In addition we want to develop a 'mentoring' scheme for those who would find it helpful.
Greater commitment to prayer:
We are seeking to encourage prayer throughout the congregation both individually and corporately. In particular we try to create opportunities for corporate prayer as well as encouraging more prayer within the 'services'. We are also intending to establish a prayer triplet scheme.
Development of worship services:
Over time we expect to develop a 'multi-service' approach that recognises not only the wide variety and rich heritage of worship forms, but also the opportunity to explore new approaches to worship that are particularly relevant to the mission context in which we find ourselves.
