Church Life : Authentic Community

At KBC we hope that people will feel part of an authentic community.   We want to be a church where every person is welcomed and affirmed, where every person feels that they truly belong, where everyone feels cared for and where God is meeting real needs.

Welcoming one another

We have a responsibility to make one another feel welcome at church.  But on a Sunday you should find members of our welcome team on special look out for visitors.  We also have a welcome area at one end of the foyer where you can find out more about the church and speak to someone about what happens during the week.

Relating to one another

In a large church it is really important to be part of some sort of small group - whether that is a small Bible study group or a prayer triplet or other group.  It is only as we connect in meaningful relationship with a few other people that we will feel like we truly belong.

In addition we try to organise regular church wide events like ceilidhs and the occasional weekend away. The pastoral area groups often have lunch together in the hall or organise walks and other social events.

Supporting one another

We try to be a church that looks out for one another. That is supplemented by the work of the pastoral teams who look after specific areas. The ministry team are also available to meet with people and try to visit those in hospital or those who are facing particular difficulties.

We also run a range of support groups and courses like The Marriage Course and a Divorce & Separation Recovery Group.
